Day 1: Marrakesh to El Kelaa of M’gouna via The High Atlas Mountains
Day 2:
Driving from Ouarzazate to The Gorges.
After breakfast, you will drive through Valley (Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs) Later your destination will be towards the El Kelaa of M'gouna (Valley of the Roses), where you will spend the night. Later, you will depart for Boumalne Gorges and Todra Gorges. The latter is a canyon in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, near the town of Tinerhir. Both the Todgha and neighbouring Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided canyons on their final 40 kilometres (25 mi) through the mountains. The last 600 metres (1,969 ft) of the Todgha gorges are the most spectacular. The long valley is lined with palmery and up on the rocks you may see the Nomad families tending sheep and goats. Probably, you will see the eagles that nest in the Todra and other amazing birds. Lunch will be surved in the midway. Overnight in a traditional hotel close to the Gorges.
Day 3: From the Gorges to Sahara
Wake-up to a spectacular
sunrise in the desert and enjoy breakfast. Bivouac trekkers will escort you by
camels, and you will carry on your journey to Fes via Ziz Valley Gorge and
cedar forests where tame Barbary apes are still living – this is an interesting
route along the Middel Atlas with a stop for lunch in Midelt. Drop off in Fes.
