Ourika Valley Excursion
This day trip will take you into the High Atlas to get out of Marrakesh to experience the countryside with its green valleys and the Berber way of life away from the traffic of the city.
Departure from Marrakech towards the valley of Ourika at around 1000 m altitude.You will discover the small villages of mud, red hanging on the sides of the mountain, terraced agriculture, the banks of the river fresh.
You will visit a Berber house to explore their lifestyle, simplicity of equipment and have an idea on privacy Berber;  then,  you will learn how to prepare  mint tea and enjoy with family. Lunch will be enjoyed surrounded by the greel lush of the valley and the fresh water of the river.
In the afternoon, after enjoying the breeze of the mountains an exploring the berber village, we drive back to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech

Arrival Marrakech. You will have a half day free upon arrival to discover this vibrant “Red City” thanks to its pink-tinted buildings. Plunge into the excitement of Djemâa El-Fna Square in the heart of Morocco. There you will be delighted by the dancers, snake charmers, jugglers, narrators, and singers. This reflects the oral culture of this city. Spend the night in a Riad.

Day 2: Marrakech to Imlil for  Mountain Trekking


Leaving the riad in Marrakech and heading to the Atlas Mountains, driving along the fabulous Oued of Riraya ( the name of the whole valley starting from Tahanaout 32km from Marrakech ) enjoying the landscape the Mountainous Berber villages all along Ait Mizane valley. Imlil is the starting point from which you will start hiking. Thelocal guide and the muleteers team (the cook & muleteers) will take care of you, carrying your staff & cooking delicious Berber meals. The highed you get the more stunning views become. the mule path is the only way to follow until you reach Toubkal refuge (3200m). Once you arrive there, you can spend the night in either the refuge or in a tent.

Day 3: Trekking Early


After breakfast, You will continue to the summit, the altitude of which is 4167m. It is the highest one in Africa after the one of Kalimajaro in kenya. It takes about three hours to reach it from the refuge.
After 1h of the exploration  taking pictures of the amazing mountains, you will trek down to the based camp; the downhill takes just 2h. The guide will normally carry the pack lunches but you will have lunch on you return to the based camp. After lunch you start walking down to the starting point by the same mule path. Your driver will be in Imlil to pick you up. Overnight in a Berber guest House.

Day 4: Imlil to Ouarzazat and Ait ben Hadou

Early morning, depart Imlil. Following, cross the Tizi n Tichka pass settling in the High Atlas Mountains (short stops to take a look at the wonderful landscape and the berber villages). Afterwards, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou and the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Night in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazat / Zagora / Tamagroute / Mhamid / Erg Chegaga:

Today’s journey will take you to Tamgroute to visit the famous Coranic Library, subterranean kasbah and the Manufacture of pottery. Next, you will carry on towards M’hamid, the "doorway to the Sahara desert" for lunch on the place. In the afternoon, after one hour camel ride, we take a track which carries out through the rocky, desert scenery towards the sand dunes of Chegaga that spread over 40 km, enjoying the sunset. Overnight in a desert camp under a star-filled sky.

Day 6: ERG CHIGGAGA / LAKE IRIKI / FOUM ZGUID / TAZENAKHT / TAROUDANT

Breakfast will be served simultaneously with a beautiful sunrise. Cross the desert, stony ( hammada in the local language), and pass the Sacred Source ( the Draa river runs underground for 300 kilometers and this is one of the over ground springs) and then the huge dried up Lake Iriki, famous for its fossils. Later on, we reach Foum Zguid and Tazenakht. The latter is a Berber carpet center. After lunch, we reach Tilouine, where the whole of Morocco gets its saffron and then Taroudant in which we will have dinner and accommodation.

Day 7: Taroudant Agadir


Today we will head to Agadir. Next, We will  head down to Agadir’s port for lunch; options include seafood or international cuisine along the boardwalk close to the ocean.  Stroll along the port, people watch and visit the action packed fishing market in which you select choose  an assortment of fish to have cooked for you on the spot.  Visit the Valley of the Birds. The Valley of the Birds has pleasant, lush vegetation that draws in birds throughout the year. There is also a waterfall, zoo and aviary that you may want to visit once you’ve tired of the beach.
Another option is to ask your guide to take you eight kilometers from the center of Agadir to see the Kasbah. Located on a hill north of the port, the Kasbah stands on the raised plateau of Ancienne Talborjt and is one of the few relics left behind from the 1960 earthquake that destroyed old Agadir. Overnight in Agadir.

Day 8: AGADIR

Enjoy breakfast in one of Agadir’s beachside cafes with views of the beach. The expansive fine sanded area is swept every morning.
After breakfast, head to the beach and rent a sunbed and umbrella for a morning of swimming. Agadir has a strong Atlantic undertow that is enjoyed by travelers pursuing jet skiing, windsurfing or other water sports.

Day 9: Agadir to Essaouira:

Today is devoted to drivinlg along the cost targeting to reach Essaouira.It is a small town famour for woodwork, windsurfing, antiquities in addition to white painted houses and their blue windows and doors, a well-designed picture. Since the 16th century, Essaouira has also been known by its Portuguese name of Mogador. The Berber name means the wall, a reference to the fortress walls that originally enclosed the city. This day can be alloted to bathing and relaxing on the beach of this coastal city. On the fortifications of the old town you will trace Portuguese, French and Berber architecture. Its whitewashed houses, cool breezes, relaxed atmosphere along with its friendly cafes, numerous craftsmen and the delicious fresh fish make this a charming place to stay the night.

Day 10: Essaouira to Marrakech

In the Afternoon leave Essaouira towards Marrakech. In the afternoon, plunge into the excitement of the place Djemâa El-Fna Square in the heart of Morocco. There you will be delighted by the dancers, snake charmers, jugglers, narrators. A context which reflects the orla Art in that city. Overnight in a Riad in the Medina.

Day 12: Marrakech Following

Today, you will have a whole day tour of Marrakech. You will visit the Koutoubia Minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Palace museum of jewelry, kaftans, leatherwork, carpets, chests and doors. Spend the night in a Riad.

Day 13: Breakfast and Transfer to the airport  for a Departure if  Required .

Day 1: Arrive to Marrakech

Day 2: Sightseeing around Marrakech

Following breakfast, you will have a full day tour of Marrakech around the city ramparts. You will visit the Koutoubia Minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Palace museum of jewelry, kaftans, leatherwork, carpets, chests and doors. Spend the night in a nice traditional Riad in Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech / Ait Ben Hadou / Ouarzazate/ Rose Valley / Dades Valley:

Depart Marrakech and travel over the Tizi n' Tichka Pass while enjoying superb views of the High Atlas Mountains and of the Berber villages along the route. Stop for lunch and tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou that is situated on a hill along the valley used as a backdrop for many films including The Four Feathers,  Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, and Gladiator. Next, You will carry on towards the El Kelaa M'gouna (Valley of the Roses), and the Dadès Valley (Valley of a Thousand Kasbah). Stay overnight in a hotel right by the Dadès Gorges and enjoy the evening with an authentic Moroccan dinner.

Day 4: Dades Vally / Todra Gorges / Tafilalet  Oasis / Erfoud / Erg Chebbi:

Around 8 : 30, you will depart towards Todra Gorges. Its 20 m/66 ft wide entrance, bubbling clear stream and its 304 m/1000 ft high rock walls stretch 99 m/325 ft back on either side and is the most stunning part of the canyon.The narrow valley is lined with palmery and up on the rocks you may see the Nomad families tending sheep and goats. You might notice the eagles that nest in the Todra and other amazing birds.  Lunch will be served in the Gorges or in the middway, travel further into the desert to the tiny village of Merzouga, in which you will camel trek into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes. You will spend the evening in a bivouac (camp), enjoying a Moroccan dinner,Berber music, and sleep in a traditional Nomad Bivouac.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi / Rissani / Anti Atlas / Draa Valley / Ouarzazate

Wake-up to a glorious sunrise in the desert and enjoy the early morning amazing landscape. Bivouac trekkers will escort you by camel to the hotel for breakfast and for showering. Afterwards, you will drive to Rissani to see the castles and Kasbahs of Tafilalet, stopping in the Tafilalt Palm Grove on the way. You will visit the zaouia of Moulay Ali Sherif (mausoleum of the dynasty’s founder) and experience the local market day in Rissani to see the traditional souks. Then, continue to Ouarzazate via Alnif, Tazarine, Draa Valley, and Agdz. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate/ Taznakht / Taliouine / Taroudant

Leave Ouarzazate in the morning and drive along the Anti Atlas Mountain to reach Taznakht, a berber town famous for local berber Carpets. Later we head south west to Taroudant city. It is called the "Grandmother of Marrakesh" since it resembles Marrakesh with its surrounding ramparts. The ramparts of the town are nearly 6 kilometers long. It has the feel of a small fortified market town on some caravan route. It is known as well for its local crafts such as jewelry and carpets. Taroudant contains almost the whole city within its walls. However, a new area is being developed outside the city walls. Under the Saadi Dynasty, Taroudant has undergone its golden age, chiefly under the reign of Mohammed ash-Sheikh, when the city walls,  the great mosque and its beautiful minaret were built in 1528. The town became the capital of the Saadians. Taroudant has rich plain and farms.
At the present time, the town is a notable marketing town and has a souk near each of its two main squares, Talmoklate. Not that far from Talmaklate square, there is the Arab souk specialized in handicrafts like pottery, leather, carpets, rugs and jewelry.

Day 7: Taroudant – Agadir – Essaouira

Around 70 km from Taroudant, a beautiful coastal city called Agadir is situated. The capital of Berbers since it is the biggest Berber city all over the kingdom. Agadir is also a very modern city that is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, near the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It has the most important fishing and commercial port of Morocco; moreover it is the first sardine port in the world, (exporting cobalt, manganese, zinc and citrus). It is also a seaside resort with a long sandy beach. Thanks to its large buildings, wide roads, modern hotels, and European-style cafes, Agadir is not a typical city of traditional Morocco, but it is a modern, busy and dynamic town and very famous for its sea food. Next, we will drive for almost 120 miles towards Essaouira Along the ocean. This town is known for its white painted houses and their blue windows and doors, a well-designed picture. As early as the  16th century, Essaouira was named Mogador. The Berber name means the wall, a reference to the fortress walls that originally enclosed the town.

Day 8: Sightseeing around Essaouira

This can be devoted to bathing and relaxing on the beach of this coastal city. On the fortifications of the ancient town, you will trace Portuguese, French and Berber architecture. They are whitewashed houses, cool breeze, relaxed atmosphere along with its friendly cafes, numerous craftsmen and the delicious fresh fish make this a charming place to stay another night .

Day 9: Transfer to the airport .
Day 1: Airport/Casablanca/Rabat
Picking you up in Casablanca Airport. The first destination will be Hassan ll Mosque, the second largest one in the world after the one of Mecca. The second destination will be the capital of Morocco, Rabat. The trip will take you to Chellah ancient ruin, Hassan Tower and picturesque Oudayas Kasbahid addition to a visit to Mohamed V tomb, who refused to allow Vichy’s government occupying during the WW ll. Dinner will be served in your hotel. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat / Meknes /  Moulay Idris / Volubilis / Fes

Today, you will drive to Versaille of Morocco, Meknes. It is an imperial cities which is dated back to three centuries ago. There, you will visit Bab Mansour which is decorated in green and white ceramic tiles in addition to Qura prison, and Sahrij Souani Basin. After lunch, you will drive to Moulay Idris town, from which the first first Arab Dynasty started ;next, you will move on to the Roman ruins, Volubilis. Afterwards, you will continue to Fez, the oldest city in Morocco, with a visit to the synagogues which goes back to the 17th century. You will have the opportunity to see the ancient Jewish cemetery near the gates of the Royal Palace and the house where Maimonides once lived. Dinner will be served in a restaurant near your riad. Overnight in a traditional riad in  Fes.

Day 3: Fes

Begin your day tour in the holy city of Fes, the metaphor of which is a precious diamond of Spanish-Arabic civilization. It is a city of secrets and mysterious beauty. you will have the chance to see the architecture of Medrsa and Medina ;besides, you will visit Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the first sanctuary of human and moral sciences and Al-Karaouiyne University, the oldest University in the world. You will also visit The Andalusia Mosque which is dated back to the 9th century, an imposing minaret decorated with green faiences crowns the Rsif Mosque, the Medersas around the Karaouiyne Mosque, former lodging houses for students coming from outside the city, proving their essential role they played through thousand years of history. A multitude of locally produced goods are on sale in this incredible maze-cotton fabric, silk, brocade work, slippers, and many more. Proceed your visit to El-Attarine Souks in which the craftsmen provide the visitor a non-stop spectacles. Leaving El-Souk through the gate with its green decoration and blue faiences, moving towards the amazing Moroccan Museum with its marvelous contains of Art; Finally, optional lunch at El-Medina and shopping in the afternoon. Overnight in a traditional riad in Fes.

Day 4: Fes /Ifrane / Azrou/ Middle Atlas /Midelt / Errachidia/ Rissani/ Merzouga:

Today will be the longest day driving. You will visit Ifrane, the Swiss mountainous town, and the cedar forest of Azrou where you will wander amongst the famous Moroccan tame monkeys in their natural environment.Then, you will cross The Middle Atlas Mountains and the only tunnel in Morocco, carrying on along the Valley of Ziz with thousands of palm trees and high cliffs. Your journey will take you deeper south to the Sahara Desert. Overnight in a hotel in the edge of the sand dunes.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi – Rissani- Camel Trip

In the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the largest in Morocco, you will enjoy the panoramic scene of black volcanic rock on the plains, the bright blue sky, the green palm trees, white salt beds, mirages of water, and golden shifting dunes. Visit Rissani for the weekly market in which Nomads come to sell and buy goods. Pass the lake in Merzouga to see the flamingos. Have lunch with our Berber family and friends before beginning your camel trek into the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. You will spend the evening in a bivouac (camp), enjoy a Moroccan dinner, and sleep in a traditional Bivouac Camp Nomad camel hair tent.

Day 6: Erg Chebbi / Rissani / Todra Gorges / Dades Valley

Wake-up to an amazing sunrise in the desert,  its natural beauty. Bivouac trekkers will escort by camel to the hotel where you will have breakfast. Later, you will travel to Tinerhir for lunch and for visiting the dramatic Todra Gorges. Then, you will continue through the Dades Valley to the spectacular “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs” and on to the former French Foreign Legion outpost of Ouarzazate where you will spend the evening.

Day 7: Dades Valley / Rose Valley / Oasis Skoura / Ouarzazat / Ait Ben Hadou / Hight Atlas Mountain/ Marrakech

After a typical breakfast, you will head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou that is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River. This glorious sample of southern Moroccan architecture has been used as a backdrop for over 20 films including Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, and Gladiator. You will then continue to Marrakesh over the Tizi N’ Tichka Pass while enjoying superb views of the High Atlas Mountains and of the Berber villages. Overnight in a riad the Medina of Marrakech.

Day 8: Full Day Marrakech

After having your breakfast at your hotel, you will begin your day to discover Marrakech and your first visit of the day will be The Koutoubia Minaret (The twin tower of la Giralda in sevilla, Spain), the Saadian tombs. The tombs consisting of splendid mausoleums built in the sixteenth century. Then Medersas Ben Youssef (Coranic University), domed Koubba and Dar Si El-Said Museum. Then a visit to the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) andJewish Cemetery, as a visit to the Major Elle Gardens of Yves St. Laurent. You will have Salad lunch in El-Medina. After lunch, You will return to El-Fna Square in the early evening, where it come alive with story tellers. Your dinner will be served at your hotel. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 9:Marrakesh to Essaouira

Breakfast and drive to the charming seaside heaven of Essaouira to explore the port and to enjoy a seafood lunch. night in Essaouira.

Day 10:Essaouira
Today can be devoted to bathing and relaxing on the beach of this coastal city. On the fortifications of the old town you will trace Portuguese, French and Berber architecture, its whitewashed houses, cool breezes, relaxed atmosphere along with its friendly cafes, numerous craftsmen and the delicious fresh fish make this a charming place to stay another night.

Day 11: Essaouira to Casablanca

Travel along the coast to Casablanca, founded in 1912 and Morocco’s principal commercial town. Spend the night in Casablanca.

Day 12:

Breakfast and transfer to the Mohamed 5 airport for a departure.
