Day 1:
Marrakesh to Ouarzazate via the Atlas Mountain
Depart to Marrakesh and travel
over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass while enjoying superb views of the High Atlas
Mountains and of the Berber villages. You will have a chance to visit the Atlas Film Studio. Stop for lunch and tour
the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou which is located on a hill
along Ouarzazate River. This glorious site of southern Moroccan architecture
has been used as a backdrop for hundreds of
movies including The Kingdom of
Heaven, The Last Temptation of Christ , Alexander , Prince of Persia. Drive
through Valley (Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs).You will spend the night in the
edge of Boumalne Dades. Later your destination will be towards El Kelaa of
M'gouna (Valley of the Roses), where you will spend the night.
Day 2:
Dades Valley- Merzouga via Todra Gorge
After breakfast you will depart
for Boumalne Gorges and Todra Gorges.
The latter is a canyon in the eastern
part of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, near the town of Tinerhir. Both the Todgha and neighbouring Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided
canyons on their final 40 kilometres (25 mi) through the mountains. The
last 600 metres (1,969 ft) of the Todgha gorges are the most spectacular.
The long valley is lined with palmery
and up on the rocks you may see the Nomad families tending sheep and goats.
Probably, you will see the eagles that
nest in the Todra and other amazing birds. Lunch will be surved in the midway. After, continuing the way to Sahara,
the largest desert in the world , where
you will camel trek into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes. You will stay overnight in a bivouac (camp) ; have a chance to
taste a typical
berber dinner, and sleep in a traditional
Nomad camel hair tent under millions of stars.
Day 3:
Merzouga area, culture and customs
Wake-up to an amazing sunrise
between high golden sand dunes. Enjoy wandering, boarding and breakfast. The
camel man will escort you back on camels to the Hotel Inn to shower. Next, have
an opportunity to see an African Diaspora within the African continent itself; this diaspora is
located in a village ( the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan,
to enjoy their music and lifestyle . Continue
to Rissani, where you will visit the Ksours and Kasbahs of Tafilalt, stopping
in the Tafilalt Palm Grove on the way. You will visit Moulay Ali Sherif mausoleum ( the Alaouit
dynasty founder) and explore the local
traditional market in Rissani . Once called
Sijilmassa. It used to be a meeting place for the caravans, coming from Subsaharan
countries. You will explore the hugest souk in the south east of Morocco in
which there are different goods: spices, vegetables, traditional clothes,etc. After a lunch pizza in Rissani, you will head to
Zagora via Alnif and Tazarine.
Day 4:
Zagora – Ouarzazate
After
breakfast, you will go to Ouarzazate via Drâa Valley, Agdz, visiting the
Tamnougalt Kasbah and palm trees oases which are located in a desertic area.
Overnight in a traditional kasbah in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakesh
Enjoy breakfast and continue the trip to
Marrakesh through Tizi n’Tichka Pass
over the High Atlas Mountains stopping along the way for having lunch and
for enjoying the fabulous scenery in the heart of the High
Atlas.
